Well the holiday season is upon us, and whether you celebrate it or not, it’s a busy time! But adding to the hustle and bustle of the already jam-packed month is the fact that we at PwC are all scrambling to get our mid-year reviews done!
The formal review process at PwC is two-fold. First, we have to complete a mid-year review in December, and then we have our annual reviews in the spring. The purpose of the mid-year reviews is basically to ensure that we are all on the right track. We get feedback from the seniors and managers on our jobs, which outline what we are doing well and what we can improve on. We then use these as learning points to help us develop and apply to the jobs we work on for the rest of the year.
By becoming aware of such points, it allows us to better plan the audits we will be on during busy season, and allows for the audits to be managed and run more effectively. This in turn hopefully reduces the number of hours we will work during busy season!
After we get feedback from our seniors and managers, we meet with our coaches to discuss our mid-year reviews. Everyone at the firm is allocated a coach. Our coaches will put together our mid-year and annual reviews, discuss them with us, and are always there to help us with various other things throughout the year, such as giving us advice when we need it, and even answering audit-related questions.
I have to admit though that I have been a delinquent this year. I have not yet met with my coach, and my mid-year review is due on Monday!! So unfortunately I have to cut this blog short and work on my self-assessment.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend. See you next week!

Hi Nisha,

Hi Anshul,
We had very good results with a total of 397 successful UFE writers across Canada! We also had seven writers who achieved the distinction of being members of the CICA National Honour Roll.
Hope that helps!
Nisha
