Another week of work & fun!
What have I been up to this last week? Well, this week I am out at clients doing interim testing. Interim testing is typically going out to clients and performing controls testing and updating our understanding of their processes. I actually really like controls testing and gaining an in-depth understanding of the client business processes. It might not sound very fun, but you really do learn a lot about how companies operate, which can only be useful in the future.
I am a senior, so there is a bit more responsibility on the engagements. For example, I have to answer questions about testing strategies and how to deal with exceptions from the others on the team. I also keep the manager up-to-date on how everything is going and have to talk to the client about any issues that we are noting during our testing.
So, it is the end of the week and the office organized a little work party so the partners can show their appreciation for our hard work in the summer. We met at a local restaurant, and enjoyed supper, drinks and socializing. We had a lot of fun with everyone.
One other activity that we are currently enjoying in our office this month is Movember and every guy in our office (including our partners!) are participating in moustache growing to raise money for prostate cancer. I really do love how everyone is so involved, even though some of them look a little funny! I get weekly update pictures of everyone and there are some funny group shots! It is a fun process and it is fundraising for a good cause, which is pretty cool.
I will try and keep you updated about what I am up to and all of the fun things that we get to do. And if you have any questions about anything that a senior would do, or anyone else for that matter, please let me know. Talk to you soon!
