As we enter into the middle of the fall and planning for our winter engagement begins, there is no better time to discuss teamwork at PwC. Teamwork is the cornerstone of the AAG practise. Each engagement is usually staffed with two or more individuals as well as at least one manager and engagement leader. Therefore, working in teams is a required and important task. As I went through my first year, I found that working in teams was not only rewarding, but a lot of fun as well.

So as I mentioned the week before, interviews are this week at the University of Manitoba campus. This is always an exciting time as it is a chance for you to meet our awesome recruiters, but it is also a chance for us to get to know you better. Now that offers are being signed, future Summer Students and Full-Time hires will soon be getting ready to transition from the school world to the working (read: real) world. I could tell that making this transition was something that has been running through a lot of peoples’ minds since, at info sessions, I was asked quite a few times about my perspective on the extent to which what we learn in school is applicable to the day-to-day on-the-job experience. As the new associates have started in the Calgary office, it has encouraged me to reflect on my last year at the firm and how quickly you learn and progress. After looking back at my jobs in the past year, it has really struck me how much variety PwC employees have in their schedule in terms of client diversity. This blog will focus on the various industry groups I have worked in this year which have allowed me to become more knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas.

I am now well into my rotation in the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring (CAR) group at PwC and am in the middle of one of the most interesting client engagements I have had in my entire career. About three months ago I had a very meagre understanding of the restructuring business and today, I am fully immersed in a corporate receivership.
