So the year is coming to a close. When I last wrote in, we were wrapping up the recruitment season and the month of November coming to a close. December has been a busy month as well.
First, I think it is important that we mention that this recruiting season was a huge success, and this is mainly due to the amazing recruits and applicants we had. Overall, we could not be happier with the experience and we wanted to thank all of those who applied and came out the recruiting events. We really appreciate your enthusiasm, questions, time, and effort. In the end, we were only able to take a few new hires, but we are very happy with the talent pool and our decisions were not easy.
To those that did get an offer and accepted, congratulations and I can’t to see you again and talk. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask or send me an email to chat.
In other news and events, the UFE writers found out their results last week. We had a 92% pass rate, which is amazing and the writers are all relieved that it is over. We are incredibly proud of the group. As a result, there were plenty of parties going on at the beginning of the month to celebrate. Plus, the annual firm Christmas party was the same weekend. To put it lightly, the month of December started off with a bang.
For the rest of the month, it has been very busy. I have been working with a team on a private client that was recently purchased by a public company. As a result, there have been some amazing opportunities to flex some of our accounting muscles and wrap up the job. I was lucky to have a lot of one on one time with the partner on the job discussing some of the heavier accounting issues. It was a great learning experience and it helped me start to develop some of my skills when working with partners and on higher level concepts.
As for what is happening in the office, we are all preparing for the year end season ahead. As much as this is a busy time of the year, this is also the most exciting time of the year. This is when you really apply your skills and experiences. While we are working hard, this is a great chance to build relationships with the client and other members of the firm. Plus, there are always 'Thirsty Thursdays' to help us get through the season.
As you may have noticed, these posts will only be coming out every month from now on. As busy season approaches, please let me know if there are any topics that you would like me to address and I will find the time to help out.
Happy holidays everyone and I will speak to you in the new year.
Cheers,
