My name is Colleen and I am an Associate in the Audit and Assurance Group here in our Winnipeg Office. Over the next few months I will be sharing my insight into the accounting world at PwC, as well as helpful tools to guide you through the recruitment process!
After going through the recruitment process myself in the fall of 2010, I started at PwC as a summer student in 2011. Over the summer, I had the opportunity to get a taste of what the firm had to offer. I worked on audits, in consulting and deals, alongside the firm’s business developer, and got to experience some of the PwC events such as the Tax Party and Golf Day. Needless to say it was an amazing summer with new friends, lots of fun, and some learning in there as well.
I graduated in the Spring of 2012 from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba with my Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and joined the firm in the fall as a full-time associate. Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to work in many different industries such as manufacturing, not-for-profit organizations, insurance companies, even pet insurance.Yes, that does exist!
I started the trek down the CA road in the fall and just completed Module 2. I hope to be starting Module 3 at the end of the month (knock on wood, marks are posted Friday!) and writing the UFE September 2014. Over the last two modules the support provided by my mentors and previous CASB successors have been invaluable in guiding me along this journey.
Any questions? Let me know!
Now it’s time for you! What do you want to know? Have questions about the CACEE forms, recruiting or about the CPA program? I can help! Do you want to know the ins and outs of the firm? I can tell you those! Or do you want to know what helped me make my decision and why I choose PwC? I can tell you that too!
I hope you enjoy following my blog and learning about my life at PwC. As much as this post has been about me and my experience, recruiting is all about you! So now it’s your turn. Help me learn about you!
