Another week of work & fun!
Where does the time go? Well, coming up in the next couple of weeks, I will be out at clients doing interim testing. Interim testing is typically going out to clients and performing controls testing and updating our understanding of their processes. I actually really like controls testing and gaining an in-depth understanding of the client business processes. It might not sound very fun, but you really do learn a lot about how companies operate, which can only be useful in the future.

This is an exciting week for a lot of people who are pursuing the CA designation. The 2011 UFE (Uniform Final Examination) began on Tuesday. The UFE is a three day exam and is one of the last steps in getting your CA designation.

This past week was bitter-sweet. It was fun as we had our annual golf tournament, an office lunch and a team volunteer activity but we had to say good-bye to our summer students. The summer students were a welcome addition to our team when they started back in May. I still remember their newbie smiles and nervousness when starting their new job.

There are many different types of opportunities within PwC that I want to let everyone know about. Right now, it is “tax season”, so there are many people in the office working on personal taxes and it is definitely a busy time in the office. I have never been in the tax pool to prepare personal tax returns, but I do corporate tax through-out the year, which has expanded my tax knowledge.
