Continue reading below to find out more about what the 2012 Consulting New Associates have to say about PwC.
I've sent out 3 questions to the 2012 Consulting New Associates to obtain their feedback about their PwC experiences in the past 2 months. Here are some of quotes directly from them:
At PwC, we constantly review our audit approaches and attempt to be even more efficient and effective in our work and the service we deliver to our clients. We focus our efforts on how we work (what we do, when we do it and who does what) and how we provide value to our clients.
Imagine you are at a house party and someone asks you what you do for a living. You respond with I am an “Auditor”. The room goes quiet as you start explaining that you are instrumental to reliability of financial reporting information to stakeholders. Nobody understands what you are saying. A few moments later someone cracks a joke about how they need to be careful about what they say to you. Next time someone asks you the question you respond with an “Accountant”.
I've been asked many times, "Why Consulting? And Why PwC?" If you are an experienced person, graduating or someone in between careers unsure of what to do, here are some signs that you belong in Consulting at PwC.
1) You have a passion for people: Simply put, you love working and collaborating with people from a diverse set of competencies, cultures and professional backgrounds. It is what one of the things that make consulting at PwC a great place to work.
The past 2 days have been some of the happiest moments I've had since joining PwC. Since May, I have been working with 9 people from the People and Change Practice across Canada to develop the HR Transformation & Technology Course for the PwC Consulting University. The past several months have been extremely busy as we had to develop the course materials in parallel to our client engagements. These past 2 weeks have been especially eventful coordinating the finalization of all the materials from all the content owners.
As a senior associate in the AAG group, I thought it might be worth while to give a brief outline of what an auditor actually does while performing an audit. Although reading the daily tasks of what an auditor does may be a great way to fall asleep, in reality, a lot of what we do involves interacting with people and learning about how businesses operate. Keep reading to see what it really means when the auditor drop by.
I am employed as a Senior Associate in the People and Change Practice in Calgary. People often ask what exactly what the People and Change practitioners actually do for PwC. Here is a quick synopsis of the P&C Practice in PwC.
I hope everyone's summer is going well. For me, summer is just beginning. I recently finished my first CASB Module, and now I am just anxiously waiting for my exam results. It's strange having so much free time, but I must say, I'm enjoying it! Since I am a new blogger, I thought I would provide you with you with a bit more information about me, like why I chose the Audit and Assurance Group (AAG) at PwC Edmonton, and what I believe the AAG group at PwC Edmonton will be able to offer you.
Sweaty palms, gelled-back hair and a brand new suit. You think you are ready for your first day at work, but are you? As I look back to my first day at PwC as a New Associate, besides being nervous and excited, I can tell you that it was definitely one of the greatest feelings of my life. I knew I had made the right decision by choosing PwC as the firm where I would launch my career given the transition from university to a professional environment was seamless. Everybody at the firm was smiling, welcoming and equally as excited as I was. Having completed my first year at the firm, I want to take this opportunity to share with you what I believe are the five most essential things you should keep in mind before you head out for your first day at work, which hopefully will be at PwC!
